Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Skoura – Dades Valley

Pick up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, and begin your journey across the High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi-n-Tichka Pass.

Stop to admire panoramic mountain views before visiting the UNESCO World Heritage village of Ait Ben Haddou, famous as a backdrop for movies such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia.

After lunch, continue through Ouarzazate with a stop at the historic Taourirt Kasbah, and drive through the Roses Valley, known for its annual Festival of Roses and abundant rose gardens.

Pass through the charming Berber villages of Skoura, El Kelaa des M’Gouna, and Boumalne Dades, before arriving in Dades Valley for your overnight stay in a comfortable hotel. Enjoy dinner with spectacular mountain views.

Trekking & sightseeing: moderate walking and scenic stops
Overnight: Dades Valley hotel

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, depart Boumalne Dades and drive toward the Sahara Desert, with a stop at the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where cliffs rise up to 600 meters and the gorge narrows to just 10 meters in places.

Continue through traditional Berber villages toward Tinjdad, stopping for lunch in a local restaurant. Optionally, try the famous Berber pizza if arriving by midday.

Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, and leave your luggage at the hotel. Begin your camel trek (approx. 1.5 hours) across the desert to a Berber desert camp, where you’ll stay in comfortable tents equipped with mattresses, blankets, and cushions.

Experience a traditional Berber dinner around the campfire, accompanied by local drumming under the magical desert sky.

Trekking & camel ride: moderate effort, approx. 1.5 hours camel trek
Overnight: Desert camp in Erg Chebbi

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

Rise early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes during a short camel trek back to Merzouga.

Return to your hotel for a refreshing shower and breakfast before departing toward Fes, passing through the Ziz Valley, Rissani, Errachidia, and the Middle Atlas mountains.

Travel through scenic cedar forests near Azrou—home to playful Barbary monkeys—and the charming ski resort town of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.”

Stop for lunch along the way in a local restaurant, and arrive in Fes by evening, where your guide will drop you off at your riad or hotel. This concludes your 3-day Atlas and Sahara adventure, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Moroccan mountains, valleys, and desert landscapes.
