Itinerary
Day 1 – Marrakech – Imlil – Tizi Mezzik Pass – Tazaghart Refuge
Scenic Trek through the Azzaden Valley and Atlas Waterfalls
Your 3-day Mount Toubkal trekking adventure begins early in the morning with a pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. After a scenic 1.5-hour drive through the High Atlas Mountains, you arrive at the picturesque Berber village of Imlil (1,700 m), the main gateway to Mount Toubkal.
Here you meet your trekking team and prepare your equipment while the mules are loaded with luggage. The trek begins with a steady ascent toward Tizi Mezzik Pass, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Atlas Mountains.
From the pass, you will enjoy breathtaking views of surrounding valleys and traditional Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides.
After a short rest with dried fruits and tea, the trail continues toward Azib n’Tamsoult, a peaceful mountain area known for its spectacular waterfalls, the highest in the Toubkal National Park.
The trail gradually becomes steeper as you climb toward the Tazaghart Refuge (3,100 m), where you will spend your first night in the mountains.

Day 2 – Tazaghart Refuge – Tizi Aguelzim Pass – Toubkal Base Camp
Crossing High Mountain Passes with Views of Mount Toubkal
After breakfast at the refuge, the trek continues with a challenging climb toward Tizi Aguelzim Pass (3,650 m). This high mountain pass offers the first spectacular views of Mount Toubkal, rising above the surrounding peaks.
From the summit of the pass, you will see dramatic alpine landscapes stretching across the High Atlas range, with rocky ridges, deep valleys, and snow patches depending on the season.
After enjoying the scenery and taking photos, the trail descends toward the Toubkal Base Camp, located near the famous Neltner Refuge (3,200 m).
The afternoon is free to relax, acclimatize, and prepare for the early morning summit attempt. Your guide will provide information about the next day’s climb.
As evening falls, enjoy a warm dinner and the peaceful atmosphere of the high mountains.

Day 3 – Summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m) – Imlil – Marrakech
Sunrise Summit Climb and Descent through the Atlas Mountains
Today begins very early before sunrise for the highlight of the trip: the summit ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa.
With headlamps lighting the trail, you begin the climb up rocky mountain slopes. As the sun rises, the landscape gradually reveals an incredible panorama across the Atlas Mountains.
After approximately 3 hours of climbing, you reach the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m). From the top, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views stretching from the Sahara Desert in the south to the vast plains of Morocco in the north.
After celebrating your achievement and taking photos, the descent begins back to the Toubkal refuge, where you will have a short rest and lunch.
The trek then continues down through the Ouawgant Valley toward the Berber village of Aremd, before reaching Imlil.
From Imlil, a comfortable transfer takes you back to Marrakech, where the tour ends at your hotel or riad.
