Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tizi n’Mezzik – Azib Tamssoult
After an early transfer from Marrakech, we reach Imlil (1,740m), the main trekking base in the High Atlas Mountains. From here, we begin our trek, ascending gradually toward Tizi n’Mezzik Pass (2,489m).
From the pass, enjoy sweeping views over the Imlil area and the Azzaden Valley. Lunch is served in a peaceful juniper forest before descending into the valley toward the summer village of Tamssoult (2,250m).
Overnight in a mountain refuge or camp.
Approx. 5 hours walking.
Day 2: Azib Tamssoult – Aguelzim Pass (3,600m) – Toubkal Refuge
Today is a spectacular high-mountain day and excellent acclimatization for the summit. We follow the river upstream to the beautiful Ighouliden waterfalls, then continue climbing toward Aguelzim Pass (3,600m).
From the pass, enjoy breathtaking views across the Haouz Plain and toward Mount Toubkal itself. After a picnic lunch at the pass, we descend toward the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m), where we rest and prepare for summit day.
Overnight in the refuge or camp.
Approx. 7 hours walking.
Day 3: Toubkal Refuge – Mount Toubkal Summit (4,167m) – Imlil – Marrakech
An early start for the highlight of the trek. After breakfast, we begin the ascent of Jebel Toubkal, Morocco’s highest peak. Depending on the season, the route may cross snowfields, but no technical climbing is required.
After reaching the ridge, the views open dramatically. The final ascent leads you to the summit, offering spectacular panoramas across the High Atlas, with views of peaks such as Jebel Siroua and Jebel Ouanoukrim on clear days.
After time for photos and rest, we descend back to the refuge for lunch, then continue down to Imlil via the pilgrimage site of Sidi Chamarouch. Transfer back to Marrakech in the evening.
Approx. 8–9 hours walking (1,000m ascent / 2,400m descent).
