This short yet rewarding trek takes you through remote valleys, high mountain passes, traditional villages, olive groves, and protected natural areas, offering a genuine insight into daily Berber life. Spend the night in a local village guesthouse and experience warm hospitality, home-cooked meals, and breathtaking mountain scenery — all within easy reach of Marrakech.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Imlil – Tizi M’Zzik – Azzaden Valley – Tizi Oussem
After breakfast, meet your mountain guide in Imlil, the main trekking hub of the High Atlas. Begin your hike by ascending through terraced fields and walnut groves toward the Tizi M’Zzik (2,540m).
From the pass, enjoy stunning panoramic views over the Azzaden Valley, one of the most scenic valleys in the region. Descend gradually into the valley, passing juniper forests and small Berber hamlets, before reaching the peaceful village of Tizi Oussem.
After lunch, you have the option to take a short side hike to the beautiful Ighouliden Waterfalls, hidden deep in the valley and especially impressive after winter and spring rains. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and overnight stay in a local gîte, surrounded by mountain silence and star-filled skies.

Day 2 – Tizi Oussem – Tiziane – Azerfsane – Tassa Ouirgane – Ouirgane
After breakfast, begin a gentle downhill trek through a protected nature reserve known for its diverse flora and the presence of Barbary sheep. The trail winds through olive groves, terraced farmland, and authentic Berber villages where daily life continues much as it has for generations.
Pass through the villages of Tiziane and Azerfsane, stopping along the way for a relaxed picnic lunch surrounded by nature. Continue toward Tassa Ouirgane, enjoying wide valley views and warmer air as the landscape gradually changes.
By mid-afternoon, arrive in Ouirgane, your final destination, nestled near the foothills of the High Atlas. Meet your driver and transfer back to Marrakech or continue your stay in the Ouirgane area.
