Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Asni – Imi Oughlad – Ait Aissa Tacht Pass (1,950 m)

Depart from Marrakech and drive to Imi Oughlad, the starting point of the trek. An easy path leads to the Tacht Pass (1,950 m). Descend into the valley to reach Ait Aissa, a picturesque village with warm earth tones and panoramic views of surrounding peaks. Overnight stay in a local homestay, enjoying traditional Moroccan hospitality.

Day 2: Ait Aissa (1,950 m) – Tizi Oussem – Cascades Tamsoult – Tizi Oussem

After breakfast, follow mountain paths to Tizi Oussem and Tamsoult (2,400 m). Pause for lunch and enjoy a relaxing rest under the waterfall’s mist. Descend back to Tizi Oussem for an overnight stay in a local lodge. Walking time: approx. 5 hours.

Day 3: Tizi Oussem – Mzik Pass (2,450 m) – Aremd (1,900 m)

Today’s trek follows a trail at the foot of Jbel Toubkal, offering stunning views of the Azzaden Valley. After 2.5 hours of walking, reach Mzik Pass (2,450 m). Descend through the lush Imlil Valley and reach Aremd, famous for terraced orchards. En route, visit Sidi Chamharouch shrine, a spiritual site in the heart of the Atlas. Overnight in a guesthouse. Approx. 5 hours walking.

Day 4: Aremd – Tamatert Pass (2,200 m) – Tinghrine & Ouenskra (2,050 m)

Follow a combination of paved roads and narrow mountain paths, sometimes shaded by walnut and Aleppo pine trees, to reach Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,200 m). Enjoy breathtaking views of the Imnane Valley. Descend into the villages of Tachdirte, Ouenskra, and Tamguist, where stone houses blend harmoniously with the surrounding mountains. Overnight in a local guesthouse. Approx. 5 hours walking.

Day 5: Ouenskra (2,050 m) – Tizi n’Addi (2,900 m) – Oukaimeden – Oussartek

Climb to Tizi n’Addi Pass (2,900 m), enjoying panoramic views of villages and mountain passes crossed during the trek. Have lunch near a spring, then visit the rock carvings of Oukaimeden, a fascinating archaeological site. Descend through juniper forests to the Oussartek Valley for an overnight stay in a homestay. Approx. 5.5 hours walking.

Day 6: Oussartek – Imsker – Imi Oughlad – Asni – Marrakech

Descend through the village of Imsker in the Imenane Valley. Follow the mule trail along El Bour Neck through a juniper forest to Imi Oughlad (1,400 m). Enjoy lunch by the river before a 1.5-hour transfer back to Marrakech, marking the end of your trek. Approx. 4.5 hours walking.
