4-day Atlas Trekking Adventure
Challenge yourself with an unforgettable 4-day Atlas trekking adventure combining the ascent of North Africa’s highest peak with authentic Berber culture. This unique package takes you from the vibrant streets of Marrakech into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains, through remote villages, dramatic landscapes, and finally to the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167m).
The experience is perfectly balanced with adventure and relaxation, ending with a traditional Berber cooking class in Imlil, offering a true taste of mountain life.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Marrakech – Imlil – Toubkal Refuge
After an early breakfast in Marrakech, drive toward the High Atlas Mountains to reach the village of Imlil (1,740m), the main trekking hub of the region. Meet your mountain guide, muleteers, and trekking team who will take care of luggage and supplies.
Begin the trek through traditional Berber villages, following a scenic mule path with stunning views of terraced fields and walnut groves. Pass the shrine of Sidi Chamhrouch (2,500m), an important pilgrimage site, where you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch.
In the afternoon, continue ascending to the Toubkal Refuge (3,200m). On arrival, relax with mint tea, enjoy the mountain atmosphere, and prepare for summit day. Hot showers are available. Overnight at the refuge or mountain camp (season-dependent).
Walking time: approx. 5 hours
Day 2 – Toubkal Refuge – Toubkal Summit – Imlil
Wake up early to begin the ascent before sunrise. After breakfast, start climbing toward the summit of Mount Toubkal, moving at a steady pace with regular breaks. After 3–4 hours, reach the summit (4,167m) and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the High Atlas Mountains and deep valleys below.
After time for photos and rest, descend back to the refuge for lunch, then continue down the same route to Imlil. Overnight in a comfortable guesthouse in the village.

Day 3 – Imlil – Berber Cooking Class & Relaxation
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Imlil after the physical challenge of the summit. Spend time exploring the village, walking through apple orchards, or simply enjoying the peaceful mountain setting.
In the afternoon, take part in a traditional Berber cooking class hosted by a local family. Learn how to prepare classic Moroccan dishes such as tagine, couscous, and fresh mountain bread, using local ingredients and age-old techniques. Share the meal together and gain insight into Berber culture and daily life. Overnight in Imlil.
Day 4 – Imlil – Marrakech
After breakfast, transfer back to Marrakech through the scenic High Atlas foothills. Arrival in the city around midday or early afternoon, depending on traffic and your onward plans.
