Walk Option 1 – Tizi n’Tamatert Pass Day Walk

A stunning and gentle walk east of Imlil toward the Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279m). This route leads into the beautiful Imnane Valley, one of the most traditional valleys in the Atlas Mountains.

Along the way, pass several authentic Berber villages, terraced fields, and walnut groves. From the pass, enjoy breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys and peaks. Lunch is taken at the pass, followed by a relaxing break before descending back toward the Tagadirte village.

Walk Option 2 – Tasghimout Ridge Day Walk

A beautiful and rewarding walk west of Imlil, starting near Chez Maachou. After approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes of uphill walking, reach Tizi Mzik, offering stunning panoramic views over both the Imlil Valley and Azzaden Valley.

Enjoy lunch on the ridge while soaking in the dramatic mountain scenery before descending back to the village.

Walk Option 3 – Imlil – Imnane Valley – Aguerssioual – Imlil

This is a longer and more immersive day hike, ideal for those who want a deeper Atlas experience. Begin by hiking east toward Tizi n’Tamatert (2,272m), passing through wheat fields and orchards of walnut, apple, and cherry trees to the village of Tamatert (1,810m).

Continue through pine and juniper forests before stopping at the pass to admire sweeping views of the Imlil and Imnane Valleys, dotted with terraced Berber villages. On the horizon, admire peaks such as Adrar n’Oukaimeden, Jbel Angour, and surrounding high summits.

After a field picnic at Amghedoul, surrounded by the Toubkal Massif, return via historic villages including Tacheddirt, Ouaneskra, Tamegguist, and Tinghourine, with constant views of dramatic peaks before arriving back at your Berber accommodation in Tagadirte.

Walk Option 4 – Chamharouch Shrine & Toubkal Valley Trek (Private)

A classic and meaningful day trek following the ancient pilgrim path from Imlil toward the Chamharouch Shrine, an important spiritual site in the High Atlas.

Walk through Berber villages and along rocky mountain trails deep into the Toubkal Valley, with views toward Mount Toubkal. After visiting the shrine, descend to the village of Aremd, where you can relax with a traditional cup of mint tea before returning.

Walk Option 5 – Chamharouch Shrine & Toubkal Valley Trek (Group)

This group version follows the same scenic and cultural route as Option 4, making it a great choice for travelers who enjoy shared experiences. Walk through mountain villages, follow the pilgrim trail, visit the Chamharouch Shrine, and enjoy mint tea in Aremd before returning to Imlil.
