Atlas Mountains Discovery

Your day trip begins with departure from Marrakech around 9:00 AM. We drive south through the spectacular Moulay Brahim Gorges, passing the Asni weekly market (every Saturday) and continuing toward Ouirgane.

Along the way we will visit the traditional salt mines of Marigha, which are still in use today. The journey continues past the Ouirgane Dam and through the impressive N’Fiss Gorge, passing several small Berber villages including Tahanouat, known for its local Tuesday market.

When we reach the N’Fiss River Valley, the hiking portion of the excursion begins. You will walk through the villages of Ait Berihi and Imawnan, continuing toward Tin Mal (Tinmel) — a historic mountain village located in the High Atlas Mountains about 100 km from Marrakech.

Here we will visit the 12th-century Tinmel Mosque, one of the most important historical monuments in the region.

After the visit, enjoy a traditional lunch with a local Berber family in Ijoukak, where you will experience authentic Moroccan hospitality.

In the afternoon we return toward Ouirgane and Marrakech, concluding this beautiful Atlas Mountains day excursion.
